Welcome Bethany and Patrick to Inventive!

Inventive is excited to announce that Bethany Thompson and Patrick Robinson have joined our team!

Inventive’s newest software engineer earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Texas A&M University in 2011. He is a lifelong learner, with over 9 years of experience in .NET Framework, Web APIs, SQL databases, some mobile development, and more recent experience in Angular and Node technologies. With a background in financial, file sharing, and commercial automotive technologies, he brings several different perspectives in development practices and methodologies. Along with developing software, he enjoys facilitating bookclubs to help others develop new skills.

He is married to his lovely wife, Abbie, and has two standard poodles, Holly and Chloe. Patrick likes to go hiking, fishing, and sometimes he goes outside just to read a good book with a cup of coffee. In fact, he really enjoys a good cup of coffee in any place, really. He wishes he could meet Dr. Stephen Covey, the author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, because of the influence the book has had on his life, among millions of other individuals.

Bethany joins Inventive as Operations Project Manager. She graduated from Oral Roberts U in Tulsa OK in 2004 with a B.A. in Music.  After teaching piano, voice, and guitar lessons for a few years in Austin, she applied for and got accepted to the Air Force Officer Training School (OTS) in 2007 (after much prodding from her husband, who was active Air Force at the time).  Bethany spent 7.5 years on Active Duty (AD) as an Air Battle Manager, flying on the E-8 JSTARS out of Robins AFB in Georgia, and the E-3 AWACS out of Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. From there, she joined the Air Force Reserves as a Logistics Readiness Officer, and she still serves in that capacity about 4 weeks/year.  In her “real” life (AKA civilian land), she worked for Northrop Grumman as a Radar/Intelligence Analyst for about 5 years before exchanging the corporate jungle for a free-range lifestyle in 2019.

Bethany has been married to her first and only love, Nathan, since 2005.  They have four rambunctious boys that keep them on their toes: Calym, “Charlie Mike” (8), Alastair, “Alpha Kilo” (5), Rainer, “Romeo Whiskey” (4), and Garrison, “Golf Kilo” (18 months).  Bethany loves all things Lord of the Rings and Narnia and enjoys reading fantasy and medieval historical fiction. She also loves MMORPGs, and is a World of Warcraft Horde Guild Master, and occasionally plays Elder Scrolls Online, Destiny 2, Diablo 3, and Halo.  She has a few creative writing projects in the works and hopes to (one day) publish a novel. Bethany would love to sit down with J.R.R. Tolkien over a cup of freshly roasted coffee and Belgian chocolates to discuss how he created the stories and languages of Middle Earth.

We are so excited to have them on our team!
