It’s time to adapt our way of life in response to the COVID-19 virus. In the Military we are taught to improvise, adapt, and overcome. This holds true for business and personal life and particularly applies to our current situation. Let’s quickly discuss the following:

  1. Social distancing
  2. Keep moving forward
  3. Take this seriously! Not just for yourself, but for others. This is what defines a community, which we are all a part of.

Working from home – social distancing

Many people are able to do their jobs from just about anywhere these days. In our company, half of our people don’t live in Austin or are not even in the US. Working remotely is something we do every day. If your company is finding it hard to enable working remotely for your employees, shoot us an email and we’ll do what we can to help at no cost to you. Our next blog post will discuss different tools to use to enable working remotely. If you need recommendations now, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are happy to help.

As a volunteer firefighter and member of a search and rescue team, I still need to go out and support our community in person. I have to interact with people from all walks of life, some of which may be infected with COVID-19. We can’t stop helping the community in this way. We can only do our best to be safe!

Continue moving forward

Everyone will go crazy if you lock yourself in a room and don’t go outside now and then. You need to get outside, run around the block, go for a bike ride, or in some way get your body moving. Use the time you might have been commuting to and from work as the time you now go outside to get a workout in. You will feel better for it.

Take this seriously – lead from the front.

Personal responsibility has massive ripple effects for the better. Leading from the front is how you can do your part. Common sense is not so common, but we all know what will help. Social distancing, washing your hands a trillion times a day, don’t go visit your elderly grandmother, demanding that others wash hands — you don’t need this list from me. It’s everywhere.

Ok ok, here is the list!

Do it, and lead from the front. We’re all in this together.
